We WON the Best Buy Challenge! Thank you so much to all of the people that voted for our team during the month of December to January 9th. After all of the power outages and snow and ice storms, we were really worried. Thanks to 6,038 votes from around the country, we finished 8th out of the top 15 teams... so we get the $10,000 to expand our project! Please contact us if you know of a place that might like to host a machine or have a group of youth that would like to handle the day-to-day operations of their own machine... we have matching money to help you get started!
We launched Pure Water Vending in May 2008 to help save the lives of 6,000 children around the world that die every day from drinking contaminated water. Through a United Way/Youth Venture grant and help from a private donor, we placed a vending machine at Broadway Bound Performing Arts Center in Merrimack, New Hampshire.
For only $75, Pure Water for the World can install a water filter in a family's home in a third world country like Honduras. The proceeds from our vending sales help to buy these filters so we can save lives!
